Mobility and Stability
Our plate trucks come standard with valve-mounted pneumatic tires, including on the Large Glass Car Urban-Big. These tires are lightweight and provide a smoother ride, especially when overcoming thresholds. Pneumatic tires make it easier to push and maneuver the cart, which is especially important in rough terrain conditions.
However, the major disadvantage of pneumatic tires is that they can go flat. For situations where flat tires are a major risk, we offer Polyfill tires. These tires are filled with a special material that prevents punctures and provides the same suspension as pneumatic tires. However, polyfill tires make the cart considerably heavier; the cart weighs about 55 kg with these tires. Therefore, we recommend this option if the cart will remain in one location for an extended period of time. The disadvantage is also that the wheels are expensive, BUT, if you have to stop your work due to flat tires, it is even more expensive! For general use, however, we recommend pneumatic tires because of their ease of use and light weight. And make sure your work area is clean and free of nails: use a broom!
